Hey I'm the same person that had problems with my game crashing everyfive minutes and I'm bring back the results. It crashes everything I play in live mode and I turn the camera to manhattan or if I move my sim in to manhattan! Is there a reasons for this
At this point I would assume it is memory related. This is typically the case when a game keeps crashing. Perhaps all the new objects and terrain paints have made this world too heavy for your PC :(
I'm sorry about that. I always sought to make a world that everyone could play...

I think we're pushing the brink at this point with lower end PC's so an influx of new lots might not be the best decision. BUT, I will really, really try to make sure that the next version is either the last beta, or the final version. And I will release the CAW files along with it so that players can do whatever they want with it.
I don't have Showtime so no I won't be including it. If other people would like to make venues, I'd be happy to link to them or put them on the blog. The same goes for the other ep's

If I have V.4 would the only way to import my active family to V.5 be to have them 'move' to the new version of NYC? Would installing V.5 affect anything in my V.4 world? Thanks again. I'm sure it's gonna be awesome :]
There's some way to rig that up with .world files or something like that but I've never done it. I would suggest uninstalling the fourth version and clearing your cache folders before updating to the new one. Twallan's porter mod allows you to move sims and still keep relationships and all that, so check that out

The WTC towers will not appear in the world. At the time, we wanted it to best reflect an accurate version of current NYC. I don't know if there is room in Manhattan in this late period to place them.
At any rate, TJ Streak has made a 'Twin Towers' mesh available for download at his site:

Hi! I really love your world from the pictures I've seen! I wanna play it so baaaad! But somehow it won't work. I've installed the CC and the world file and I have all the EPs and SPs that were released up until Generations. When I wanna start a new game in this world, the loading bar is filled within a second and then my screen goes black and there comes an error message saying that there was a serious error occuring while loading the .world file. And then I have to go back to the start menu. I have tried everything, restarting the game, restarting the computer even uninstall and install again but it still won't work. Got any clues why? Try re-downloading. I don't really know why this happens but I remember downloading a world and having this happen to me too. Be sure to uninstall, clear your caches, and then redownload. Hope it works, sorry for the late reply.
Brooklyn bred native here! LOVE what you've done from the looks of the pics. I especially enjoy the bridges and ferries. I've always wanted to do a five borough world but you've taken it to heights I could only imagine. Thanks for sharing. I KNOW it was a lot of work.
I would suggest a Story Progression mod. The world will eventually fill up on it's own but it would do so much faster with the help of a mod. Google Twallan's story progression mod, or 'awesomemod' made by Pescado
The same thing happened to me that happened to the person who posted two above me. I came across this completely by accident a few months ago and have since installed it, moved a guy in (it was like I Am Legend for a while there as he was, except for service sims, the only person living in NY), and love it. I have since tweaked Twallan's Story Progression mod to create a population boom. The amount of things to do, the vastness of the world, the scenery, amazing! Thanks for all your effort and sharing it with us!
One slight issue though, might easily be fixed I just don't know how, NYC Lot B is where my guy, his wife, and their baby are living. Someone moved in early on and seemed to be living in one of the basement rooms and then disappeared or moved out. Since then, no one has moved into the other three townhouses and if they have they have moved out very quickly. Any advice would be appreciated.
In my experience, the number of NPC neighbors is based on how many 'Apartments' you have in the world. So, say you place one apartment in Sunset Valley, that building will be filled with neighbors. Because NY has so many of them, I think the number of neighbors per apartment will always be pretty low

Dont forget Flatiron Building, Yankee Stadium, Whitestone Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Chrysler Building, Trump Building, Seagram Building, Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, Plaza Hotel, Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Battery Park n a tons of attraction I know its hard to build all of them so its just suggestions I wish I could help but i m not good to create the world = (
I found this amazing world and started playing with it a few days ago. I am amazed!! I can't believe the detail. I am in awe. This must have taken you months to do. I will never go to Bridgeport again :-)
Once the .sims3pack is downloaded (the NY world file) just double click on it and your launcher should...launch, and start the installation process. Alternatively yes, you can put it in your downloads folder and then start up the launcher and select 'downloads'. The world file should be contained within, ready for installation.
Also, be sure to install the .package content before playing. Otherwise many, many buildings will be missing.
