This post will help you correctly install New York's custom content...
1. Setup your game to accept .package files
2. Now place the New York CC files (pictured below) into the 'Packages' folder in your 'Mods' folder:

DeleteYou have to create a mods folder, and a 'Packages' folder in the mods folder. After the numeral 1 in the above post is a direct link to a comprehensive tutorial showing how to properly set it all up.

DeleteYou need to google 'WinRar'. It's a downloadable program that will unpack the .rar file and turn it into .package files
DeleteThe packages folder must be created by you and placed in the 'Documents' section of your computer. This link explains it:

ReplyDeletei did everything! I made a folder called Mods then inside it a Package folder then I downloaded that Resource.cfg and put it in the Mods folder beside the Package folder but still New York City doesn't appear in the Select a Town list.

The world requires four expansion packs. They are World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, and Seasons. There is also a version that does not require Seasons.
DeleteWithout these EP's, the game will crash on the loading screen.
Hi, I am sorry for this but I am rather confused. Your download links are like everywhere D: Anyway could you please let me know where is the Latest download of the world and the Latest custom content download link. Because I have downloaded the New York.Sims3Pack but am unsure where to download the CC and which one goes with which etc. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for an amazing world :3

DeleteDo you need to have the rar files for NY back up 2-8-2013 & the NY CC? b/c, I have all of the necessary EPs and all patched up along with the NY CC in (this path) Documents/Electronic Arts/TheSims3/Mods/Packages - but at the loading screen where I can choose new game it doesn't show NY as a playable city.
ReplyDeletethe file titled 'backup...' is just for the Create-A-World tool, so you don't need that just to play.
DeleteDid you install the actual world? It comes as a .sims3pack titled New York City, or something similar.
If you have, It may be an issue where you need to clear your caches because of a previous version of this world being installed:

i have all the needed expansion packs,i downloaded an overwatch mod so nothing would crash and all the cc is gone, the new York city world still appears on the loading screen but all the build/buy content is gone and about 50% of the world disappeared and I keep attempting to redownload the cc and it wont work. I need help asap because I had the full world for a long time and enjoyed it, I would love some help to enjoy it again :)

I have all EP on my computer i loaded the world like in the guide but the city still not appears on the city menu can you help me?
